Test and quiz scores will account for 90% (summative) and homework-classwork (formative) scores for
10% of the student progress report grade per Diocesan guidelines. The report card grade will be
determined from the average of the progress report period grades within the respective trimester. At the
beginning of each trimester, each student will start off with a clean slate. (All students will start off with
an “A” in the class. It is the student's responsibility to maintain that grade.)
All completed homework assignments will be worth 10 points. All homework assignments will be
considered late, when they are not turned in at a prearranged time and place set by myself. Failure to turn
in homework assignments will result in lower homework scores for science class. If the assignment is 1
day late, 1 point will be deducted from the 10 possible points (9 points possible). That score will be
reduced 1 point per day until the assignment is completed. Also, if answers to questions are left blank or
a non appropriate answer is submitted for that question, 1 point will be deducted from the 10 points
possible (9 points possible).
Students will be allowed to make up missed work, to take tests which were missed, and to submit an
assignment which became due during the absence. The students will have a 2 day grace period to
complete all missing assignments or tests. It is the student's responsibility to arrange this make up work
and turn in the missing assignments.
All assignments will be posted on PowerSchool website the day they are assigned.
